Dr. Loudon- Integrative Veterinarian & Founder of Dog Mom Society

Dr. Loudon - Veterinary Telehealth, Veterinary House Calls, In-Home Euthanasia, Vet-to-Vet Services

Hi, I’m Lynda Loudon, DVM, FFCP, CAETA-C

For over 24 years, I’ve supported dogs and their people through all stages—from emergency rooms and holistic healing to peaceful, in-home goodbyes. I’m Fear Free Certified, Reiki Certified, and CAETA Certified in compassionate euthanasia. That means I bring both medical expertise and mindful, grounded care to every part of the journey.

As an integrative emergency vet and end-of-life specialist, I’ve seen how many crises could be avoided with the right knowledge, support, and daily choices. That’s why I started The Dog Mom Society—a space for women who love their dogs deeply and want to show up fully, for them and for themselves. When we care for ourselves, our dogs feel it. And when we’re informed and supported, we make better choices—about health, healing, and the final goodbye.

Alongside The Dog Mom Society, I also run Peaceful Transitions, my in-home euthanasia practice. It’s dedicated to helping families navigate their dog’s final chapter with compassion, comfort, and dignity—right where their dog feels safest.

Inside The Dog Mom Society, I offer holistic guidance, expert trainings, and a strong community to help you:

  • Prevent disease before it starts
  • Feed and support the whole dog—body, mind, and spirit
  • Move through the final chapter with love, clarity, and presence

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Here, we learn together, grow together, and lift each other up through every stage of life with our dogs.

Whether you’re here to boost your dog’s health, care for your own well-being, get support through your dog’s final transition, or simply find your footing in a like-hearted community—I’m glad you’re here. Let’s walk this together.

I’m an emergency veterinarian, dog trainer, digital course creator, speaker, grateful boy mom and crazy dog advocate.

I want to help you be the ultimate dog guardian for your beloved dog…through education, knowledge and commitment you and I can ensure your dog lives his longest, most vibrant life by your side.

In my 20 years in the animal ER, I have seen, first hand, the deleterious effects diet, over-vaccination, and chronic pesticides have had on my patients’ lives. Dogs’ lives are getting shorter while obesity, chronic illness, and cancer numbers are rising dramatically. It’s time to use some scientific data and good ole common sense to turn this around. I’m glad you’re here. Together, let’s make sure you have the longest time possible with your most loyal friend.

Meet My Peaceful Transitions Team: Dr. Greg Matheson, FFCP

Peaceful Transitions Team: Dr. Greg Matheson, FFCP

Hello, I’m Dr. Greg Matheson. I’ve dedicated over half my life to caring for animals and honoring the deep bond they share with their families. Throughout my career on the East Coast, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients and patients from all walks of life. No matter our background, one thing remains the same—we all want the very best for our loved ones.

Veterinary care can be stressful for pets, especially during sensitive moments. That’s why I’m committed to practicing Fear Free medicine—an approach designed to reduce anxiety, stress, and fear in animals at every step. As a Fear Free Certified veterinarian, I use techniques that help pets remain calm and comfortable, especially during their final moments.

I’m also a certified Reiki Master. Reiki is a gentle, energy-based practice that helps create a peaceful, supportive environment for both pets and their people. It’s especially helpful during end-of-life care, offering comfort and emotional balance as animals transition.

I’m truly honored to be part of the team at Peaceful Transitions Home Pet Euthanasia. It’s a privilege to support families through such an important time and to ensure their pets experience a gentle, dignified passing in the place they feel safest—home. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and to provide care rooted in compassion, calm, and respect.

Healing Haven Animal Foundation

In 2012, Dr. Loudon founded her own non-profit organization, Healing Haven Animal Foundation. Its main purpose is to fund urgent veterinary care for pet owners who cannot afford to pay for treatment. Healing Haven Animal Foundation also provides funding to clinics that treat stray animals in critical condition.

Joey the Pit Bull

Dr. Loudon was recognized in 2012 by local and national news for her role in saving the life of an abused pit bull puppy named Joey. Authorities determined that Joey was used as a bait dog for dog fights. When he became injured, Joey’s owners shoved him into a garbage bag. They then disposed of him by throwing the bag out of a moving car onto the shoulder of a Long Island highway. A witness to this heinous act rescued Joey and brought him to Dr. Loudon’s clinic. Over the next few months, Dr. Loudon treated the pit bull pup’s life-threatening injuries and paralysis. Joey’s progress was so miraculous, his story was featured on News 12 Long Island, CBS, and NBC. Dr. Loudon and Joey were also guests on Fox and Friends. Eventually, Dr. Loudon adopted Joey and he has been her loyal and beloved dog ever since. Watch Joey’s progress in this visual documentary below.  Caution: some of the material and images may be upsetting to sensitive audiences.
